Director of Operations

Job Introduction

We are looking for a new Director of Clinical Operations, to provide key insight and leadership for the provision of a user-led, safe, sustainable and evidence based GamCare services, that deliver successful outcomes for our service users.

If you are a senior manager with an extensive background in operations or service delivery in an addiction related charity or within a health or social care setting, then this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact supporting people affected by gambling.

The Role
You will assume overall responsibility for the strategic oversight and operational management of GamCare’s operational services portfolio, including our helpline and online support, regional treatment services, and our engagement, education and prevention programmes. In order to ensure that our integrated services are co-designed and delivered to meet local population needs, you will work with key stakeholders including those with lived experience, to help provide a high-quality, efficient and effective service.

As a key member of our Leadership Team, you will support the overall strategic development and delivery of GamCare’s strategy against the annual business plan, OKRs and financial targets, achieving this through effective staff and resource management. You will develop thought leadership in relation to the delivery of services to reduce gambling harms, identifying, and responding to emerging issues and developing best practice within our services and the wider sector.

You will also participate in a board level clinical governance committee, manage relationships with key stakeholders and will represent GamCare's services externally, acting as a senior spokesperson, where necessary

The Ideal Candidate

You will likely possess a strong academic background and will be educated to master’s level, or will possess equivalent experience and learning, along with evidence of your continued management development. You will demonstrate knowledge of the current environment in respect of gambling treatment, operation of prevention services and/or addiction or mental health, pairing this with an understanding of relevant governance issues.

You will possess previous experience of working at a senior management level with responsibility for operations/service delivery in a complex health/social care setting. In addition to this, you will also possess experience of:

  • Delivering high standards of performance to achieve national and local targets
  • Developing user-led services
  • Analysing quantitative and qualitative data to develop, improve and evaluate the effectiveness of services
  • Business planning in complex organisations
  • Complex finance and budgetary management
  • Contract negotiation and management
  • Managing and leading large-scale change in a complex environment

You will also exhibit excellent strategic and operational leadership skills, as well as the proven ability to provide a clear strategy, persuade others and to overcome key obstacles. Highly developed, interpersonal, communication and operational performance improvement skills are also essential.

Full-time

Contract: Permanent

Location: Office Based (Central London)

Salary: £85,000 - £100,000 per annum

  • 33 days basic annual leave entitlement per annum including bank holidays which increases with service.
  • A generous Pension Scheme - we contribute 6% and you contribute 2%.
