Job Introduction

This is a great time to consider your next move at GamCare as we are looking for a Finance Assistant - this is a brand-new role where you will be supporting our Finance Officers with month-end close, support audits, finance reporting and issue of management accounts.  

The role will also support the implementation of our new purchase requisition process, finance systems and processes.

Role Responsibility

  • Managing the Finance inbox and responding to emails in a timely manner.
  • Assisting Finance officers with managing the Purchase requisition inbox.
  • Making sure the Purchase Ledger is kept up to date and ensuring good relations with suppliers.
  • Assisting with raising Purchase orders on QuickBooks.
  • Being responsible for checking all incoming staff expense claims to ensure they are within our policy, and making sure all supporting documentation is recorded.
  • Processing credit card transactions and assisting the Senior Finance Officer with credit card related queries.

The Ideal Candidate

As the successful candidate you will have experience of undertaking finance tasks including posting purchase invoices, expense claims and raising sales invoices.

You will be actively studying for an AAT qualification or will have relevant previous experience in a similar role. You will have a sound understanding of finance policies and procedures and how to ensure compliance.

You will have experience of using a computerised accounts package and in double-entry book-keeping.

Package Description

Full Time, Fixed Term Contract 1 year

Salary: £23,644 (UK), £25,725 (London & surrounding areas)

Office-based – attendance in the London office up to 3 times per week

Interviews, first round to take place online via video conference - week commencing/on 22nd July 2024;

Second round will take place in GamCare offices -week commencing/on – 29th July 2024.   

  • 33 days basic annual leave entitlement per annum (pro-rated for part-time colleagues) including bank holidays which increases with service.
