About Us
Founded in 1997, GamCare is one of the leading providers of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. It operates the National Gambling Helpline, delivers free treatment services across multiple regions in Great Britain, and raises awareness about gambling harms through a variety of prevention-based programmes.
The Role
Are you a keen problem-solver who enjoys helping colleagues get the best from technology? We’re looking for an IT Support Technician to provide friendly, responsive support across GamCare.
As a key member of the IT team, you’ll be the first point of contact for day-to-day IT queries, helping staff access the tools, systems and support they need to deliver services for people affected by gambling harms.
You’ll support the service desk, troubleshoot hardware, software and access issues, assist with Microsoft 365 administration, and help build, upgrade and roll out laptops and mobile devices within a secure, reliable IT environment.
About You
You’ll bring relevant experience of working on an IT helpdesk, service desk or IT support environment. You’re approachable, organised and technically minded. You can diagnose issues, explain technical information clearly, and provide excellent customer service to colleagues with varying levels of technical confidence.
You have working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, Windows devices, user account management, device setup and general troubleshooting. Experience with laptops, mobile phones, printers, networks and common business applications would be beneficial, alongside an understanding of cyber security good practice.
You can manage competing priorities, keep accurate records and follow issues through to resolution. Collaborative and proactive, you’re motivated by using your technical skills to support colleagues and help improve GamCare’s IT service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line IT support to colleagues, responding to service desk requests in a timely, professional and customer-focused manner.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, access and connectivity issues, escalating more complex problems where required.
- Support Microsoft 365 administration, including user accounts, permissions, groups, mailboxes and basic application support.
- Build, configure, upgrade and maintain laptop PCs, mobile devices and other IT equipment in line with organisational standards whilst maintaining accurate records of IT assets, support requests and device allocations.
- Support small-scale IT rollouts, projects and service improvements, helping ensure changes are well planned and communicated.
- Promote good cyber security practice, safe use of systems and effective adoption of technology across GamCare.
Benefits You Can Enjoy
- 33 days basic annual leave entitlement per annum (pro-rated for part-time colleagues) including bank holidays which increases with service
- A generous Pension Scheme - we contribute 6% and you contribute 2%
- Discretionary company sick pay from day one of service
- Employee Assistance Programme – 24-hour support
- Premium access to the CALM app for you and up to 5 dependents
