About Us
Founded in 1997, GamCare is one of the leading providers of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. It operates the National Gambling Helpline, delivers free treatment services across multiple regions in Great Britain, and raises awareness about gambling harms through a variety of prevention-based programmes.
The Role
Are you someone who enjoys turning complex staffing needs into workable plans, spotting gaps before they become problems and making sure the right resources are in the right place at the right time?
We’re looking for a Resource Planning Coordinator to join GamCare’s Helpline & Online Services team.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in how we plan and coordinate our workforce across Helpline, Online Services and Volunteering, helping our services remain responsive, resilient and well resourced.
This is a practical, hands-on planning role where you’ll take responsibility for rotas and workforce information, monitor capacity against service demand and help coordinate our employed staff, volunteers, bank and sessional workforce.
You’ll work closely with operational colleagues, using workforce and service data to spot emerging pressures, identify resource gaps and provide practical solutions that support day-to-day delivery as well as longer-term workforce planning.
About You
You’ll be highly organised and comfortable balancing different priorities in a busy operational environment. You’ll enjoy working with data and detail, but importantly, you’ll also be able to turn that information into practical recommendations that colleagues and managers can use.
You’ll bring experience of workforce planning, resource coordination, scheduling, rota management or workforce administration, alongside experience of using workforce management systems, rota systems, scheduling tools or workforce databases.
You’ll have a good understanding of demand and capacity and be confident analysing workforce information to identify patterns, risks and gaps. Strong communication and relationship-building skills will also be important, as you’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across different service areas and know when issues need to be escalated.
If you enjoy solving resource challenges, improving how things work and using information to help services plan ahead, this could be a great opportunity to bring those skills to GamCare.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain and optimise rotas across Helpline, Online Services and Volunteering, helping to ensure resources are aligned with demand, available skills and service priorities.
- Monitor workforce capacity and identify staffing gaps, emerging risks and areas where additional cover may be needed.
- Coordinate resource cover across employed staff, volunteers, bank staff and sessional workers to respond to operational requirements.
- Produce and analyse workforce information and reports, turning staffing, capacity and demand data into clear recommendations that support operational decision-making.
- Work collaboratively across the service to improve workforce planning, reporting and resource coordination, supporting a resilient and sustainable approach to service delivery
Benefits You Can Enjoy
- 33 days basic annual leave entitlement per annum (pro-rated for part-time colleagues) including bank holidays which increases with service.
- A generous Pension Scheme - we contribute 6% and you contribute 2%.
- Discretionary company sick pay after 6 months’ service.
- Employee Assistance Programme – 24-hour support
- Premium access to the CALM app for you and up to 5 dependents
