About Us

Founded in 1997, GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. We operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide treatment for anyone who is harmed by gambling, and create awareness about safer gambling and treatment.

The Role

This is a great time to join GamCare as we are recruiting a Team Leader on a new programme which aims to prevent and reduce gambling-related harm experienced by individuals affected by another person’s gambling, known as affected others.

This new role, funded by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID), will oversee peer support and prevention services for affected others. The programme will prioritise support for key groups across England, including men, young adults (18–25), neurodiverse individuals, LGBTQIA+ communities, and people from ethnic minority backgrounds.

The Team Leader will manage the delivery of effective, responsive, safe, caring and well-led provision that identifies, supports and provides interventions for affected others in our target groups. They will monitor the quality, safety and performance of the service and provide recommendations for ensuring continuous, accessible, and inclusive support for our target groups.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will have experience of overseeing and delivering peer support interventions, and will have experience of managing and developing high performance teams. You will have a relevant qualification or accredited training in a relevant area. You will have experience of delivering high-quality and safe services for adults.  You will be highly organised and be able to manage competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership - Lead the operational delivery of online interventions for affected others from our target groups.
  • Line Management and Staff Development - Provide day-to-day support and regular line management, supervision and reflection space supervision to a team of Services Officers

  • Service Development – Work across the team to co‑design, pilot and refine peer support services.
  • Matrix Working - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that resources and services are complementary, avoid duplication and benefit from mutual insights and learning.
  • Working with Lived Experience - Ensure lived experience voices are meaningfully embedded in service design, delivery and improvement processes.
  • Equality and Diversity - Embed equality, diversity and inclusion principles across all deliverables, ensuring that they are accessible and responsive to the needs of our target groups.
  • Learning and Insights - Support a culture of learning within the programme team.
  • Impact and Evaluation – Contribute to programme evaluation by gathering data and insights into the impact of the service.
  • Monitoring and Reporting – Contribute to programme monitoring and reporting by preparing written, statistical, and verbal updates on progress and outcomes.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding - Lead on the recruitment, induction and competency development of new team members.
