South East - (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Hampshire and Isle of Wight)
Home based - There may be occasions where you are asked to attend meetings in the London office, as well as some outreach and engagement work across the region
Salary - £34,850

Founded in 1997, GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling. We operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide direct support for anyone who is affected by gambling, create awareness about safer gambling and support pathways, and encourage an effective approach to safer gambling within the gambling industry.
The Role
This is a great time to join GamCare as we are growing the reach of our services. We’re recruiting a Team Leader for our South East regional service that supports people affected by gambling. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is passionate about leading and supporting staff, and enjoys both operational planning and delivery of services, alongside developing and innovating to ensure continuous improvement and learning.
Working as part of a team, the Team Leader is responsible for assisting the delivery of an effective and responsive service across the South East region, that supports people who are impacted by gambling.
The Team Leader assists day-to-day activities of the service, and contributes to performance improvements, development of partnerships, engagement activity, and business growth. The role also includes performance monitoring and reporting, alongside assisting with delivery against contractual and financial requirements.
You will be located in close proximity to the region as the role requires hands on delivery and support across the area with both staff engagement as well as involved outreach in many locations and venues.

You will have strong leadership and people management abilities and be someone who takes pleasure from being a compassionate leader and supporting individuals in their professional development, alongside setting and managing for high standards in the performance and quality of the service provided.
You will have a keen determination to grow, develop and continually improve the service for those in need of our support, bringing the team with you to harness the collective strengths and talents of individuals.
Using your excellent communication skills to build and maintain relationships, you will seek opportunities to grow and develop the reach and impact of the service across a wide range of external stakeholders and communities across Greater London.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day to day support to a team of Gambling Support Practitioners to ensure safe and effective interventions in supporting those affected by gambling
- Manage practitioners for their performance improvement and professional development
- Assist the Service Manager with strategic decision making based on operational understanding of service development needs
- Use service data to monitor, improve and develop the service
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance and improve service delivery particularly for increasing the access of support to those disproportionately affected by gambling but underrepresented in engaged support
- Support and develop Lived Experience involvement in service delivery and development
