About Us

Founded in 1997, GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. We operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide treatment for anyone who is harmed by gambling, create awareness about safer gambling and treatment, and encourage an effective approach to safer gambling within the gambling industry.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join GamCare’s Community Outreach & Training service and play a key role in our public health approach to preventing gambling-related harm and supporting early intervention.

As an Outreach & Training Practitioner, you will deliver community-based outreach, awareness raising and workforce training activity to increase understanding of gambling harms, reduce stigma and strengthen pathways to support. You will work closely with local partners, professionals and community organisations to ensure GamCare’s services are visible, accessible and embedded within local communities.

You will plan and deliver a range of prevention-focused activities, including workshops, drop-ins, awareness sessions and public engagement events, informed by local insight and lived experience. You will also deliver Brief Interventions in community settings, supporting individuals to recognise potential harm and encouraging early help-seeking through safe and appropriate signposting, including to the National Gambling Helpline and treatment services where needed.

The role requires a proactive, community-focused approach, working within agreed protocols and governance frameworks while contributing to high-quality, inclusive and culturally responsive outreach and training delivery.

About you

We are looking for motivated and compassionate individuals with experience delivering community-based outreach, engagement or prevention activity.

You will have a good understanding of gambling-related harm within a public health, prevention or early intervention context, and be confident holding supportive conversations that encourage awareness and behaviour change. You will bring strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with professionals and individuals from diverse and seldom-heard communities.

You will be comfortable delivering training, workshops and awareness sessions, and able to communicate sensitive messages in a non-judgemental, stigma-reducing way. Strong organisational skills, confidence using IT systems, and a commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries are essential for this role.
